Kyle Rittenhouse has urged President Joe Biden to “understand the facts” before labelling him a white supremacist.

In September last year, the Mr Biden tweeted to his millions of followers that then-president Donald Trump “refused to disavow white supremacists” and included a photo of Mr Rittenhouse in the montage.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News, Mr Rittenhouse's first since his acquittal, Tucker Carlson asked the 18-year-old if he had a message for Mr Biden.

“Mr president, if I could say one thing to you I would urge you to go back and watch the trial and understand the facts before you make a statement,” Mr Rittenhouse said.

“That’s not a small thing to be called a (white supremacist),” Mr Carlson responded.

“No, it’s actual malice defaming my character for him to say something like that,” Mr Rittenhouse said.

On Friday, local time, Mr Rittenhouse was visibly emotional when he heard the verdict he had been acquitted of all charges after fatally shooting two people and wounding another racial justice protests last year in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The four week trial gained international tension with some media and politicians accused of acting as the juror from the side-lines.

The Fox News host asked Mr Rittenhouse how he felt about his trial by media.

“It’s actually quite hysterical how nobody can go back and look at the facts of the case,” Kyle said.

“He crossed state lines – false.

“He is a white supremacist – false.

“None of that is true, and the lies that they can just get away with spreading is just sickening and it’s a disgrace to the country.”
