The Reader Covid is as deadly as ever and Ulez expansion is too fast too soon

I was astounded to read last week that virologist Dr Chris Smith from Cambridge University thinks that the numbers of severe illnesses and deaths resulting from Covid “remain very, very low” and that this is a “reassuring trend”. Does Dr Smith think that over 3,000 preventable deaths per month represents a low number? What about the two million people suffering from debilitating long Covid?
