UK health secretary warns of restrictions as COVID cases rise

over 2 years in news

Health authorities in the United Kingdom have resisted calls to reintroduce restrictions as experts warn daily COVID-19 cases could hit 100,000 a day.

With winter just a couple of weeks away, authorities are alarmed by soaring daily infections with the UK recording 49,139 cases on Wednesday, an increase of 17 per cent in the space of a week.

Although no immediate action has been taken, Health Secretary Sajid Javid has warned the implementation of a “Plan B” looms large and urged eligible persons to get their booster jab.
