‘Not very impressive’ if Scott Morrison is ‘forced’ to attend COP26 Hawker

Former Labor advisor Bruce Hawker says it is “not very impressive” if Prime Minister Scott Morrison is “forced” to attend the COP26 conference in Glasgow.

It comes as Prince Charles has spoken to the BBC on the issue, putting pressure on the PM over his possible attendance at the climate change summit.

“Frankly it’s not very impressive the Prime Minister is still umming and ahing or he’s forced there by Prince Charles or somebody else,” Mr Hawker told Sky News Australia.

“Everybody knows that this is a huge issue facing the future of the planet.

“So why are we even talking about this as being something that’s an achievement by the Prime Minister if he does manage to convince the National party to let him go there and say something?

“I mean that verges on pathetic as far as I’m concerned.”
