Stephanie Meadow makes bright start at Shoprite LPGA Classic

Stephanie Meadow opened with a decent first round two under 69 at the Shoprite LPGA Classic on Friday.
The county Antrim native recovered well from a double bogey on her first hole, and finished strongly with four birdies in her final seven holes.
South Korea’s So Yeon Ryu holds the clubhouse lead at six under par, the 31 year-old eagled the Par 5 third hole and added five more birdies before her only bogey of the round on the 14th.
Leona Maguire is also two under par through 16 holes in New Jersey. Maguire made her professional debut at the ShopRite LPGA Classic in 2018, finishing eight under and in a tie for 15th.
