Relations between US and China at ‘lowest point’ in decades

Relations between the United States and China are at their “lowest point” for some decades, according to The Australian’s Washington correspondent Adam Creighton.

Mr Creighton’s comments come as Prime Minister Scott Morrison has been in the United States for a one-on-one meeting with the US President, and meetings for the Quad security pact.

“It was very interesting in those meetings that they never mentioned China of course.” Mr Creighton said.

“Obviously this Quad grouping, this super-charge Quad grouping is very much a strategic play by the US and Australia and those other countries to contain Chinese aggression and Chinese power.”
