Documentary filmmaker Ami Horowitz says it was "saddening" for former US President George Bush to link 9/11 to the January 6 Capitol riots.
Mr Horowitz says it is "universally" interpreted that Mr Bush linked the two events in a recent speech made by the 43rd US President.
"What we saw at the Capitol building was disgusting and despicable, these people are animals, they should be jailed," he told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
"To compare ... 9/11 to the rioters at the Capitol building is wrongheaded to say the least."
