New COVID 19 case in Queensland under investigation

Queensland has recorded one new locally acquired COVID-19 case, which is under investigation.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says “as a precaution” due to the case being around 13 years of age, St Thomas More has been requested to send their students home and remain there until further information is provided.

Ms Palaszczuk said the fourth truck driver from Thursday, who tested positive to COVID-19, spent time at Westfield Garden City but also around the area where others were eating with their masks off.

“So it’s absolutely very critical if anyone went to those areas...it is absolutely imperative that you get tested and watch out for symptoms,” Ms Palaszczuk said.

A Queensland ambulance centre testing clinic will open up at 51 McKechnie Dr at Eight Mile Plain.
