Antarctic alcohol cap ‘mandate’ a ‘lose situation’ Rowan Dean

Sky News host Rowan Dean says it’s “not fair enough” for some "petty bureaucrat" to put a cap on the number of alcoholic drinks staff can have and prevent home brewing at Australian Antarctic stations.

“Not fair enough. How can we live in a democracy where we treat adults like children," he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“This is some petty bureaucrat somewhere. Some petty bureaucrat has decided 10 drinks, 10 units is enough.

"If you are going to mandate this sort of thing to grownups, all that will happen is you will lose some of your better-qualified scientists.

“Same with any identity politics – it's always a lose situation so I don’t recommend this, the home brewing fits in the Antarctic, it should stay.”
