Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has arrived in Tokyo in a bid to secure Brisbane's hosting of the 2032 Olympic Games.
The premier, alongside Brisbane’s Lord Mayor and Sports Minister Richard Colbeck, will meet with the International Olympic Committee for the final pitch for Queensland to host the Games.
Ms Palaszczuk's Tokyo trip has been met with backlash, with over 130,000 people signing a petition calling on the premier not to travel.
She will spend fourteen days in hotel quarantine once back in Australia but has refused to say who will be paying for it.
