Charlottesville Removes Robert E Lee Statue

almost 3 years in news

A statue of Confederate Gen Robert E Lee, which was at the center of the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally at which a man drove into a crowd, was removed from Charlottesville’s Market Street Park on July 10, officials said. According to a statement, a statue of Confederate Gen Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson was also slated to be removed on Saturday, following a petition filed in 2016 which called for their removal.
