Ireland’s irreconcilable goals

about 4 years in The Irish Times

Sir, – Can I add to Michael McDowell’s “The bottom line is that Ireland is pursuing irreconcilable goals” comment (Opinion, July 7th).
Let’s see. Irish irreconcilable goals? Restoring the Irish language, ending partition, housing its people, a working health service and Mayo winning an all-Ireland final are just a few goals that were never scored.
Good luck on the new ones.
– Yours, etc,
MP NORRIS,
Dungarvan, Co Waterford.
