Starmer’s gamble paid off — his Piers Morgan interview showed him as warm, open and decent

It’s always a gamble when a senior politician decides to do a big set piece personal interview. Particularly when they aren’t doing particularly well. Keir Starmer has had a pretty crap run of luck of late. Poor local council election results, losing Hartlepool, trying to sack his deputy Angela Rayner but getting publicly mauled in the process plus flagging poll numbers do not make for happy reading. Critics of Starmer says he’s bland and has had no cut through. Allies say he needs to get out there and show the world what a great guy he is. So last night he did that via Piers Morgan for ITV.
