Sky News host Andrew Bolt says "Victoria has the most incompetent, most authoritarian, and most crazed government in the country".

"We need more Australians in jobs, especially after all Victoria's shutdowns, but what does this government do? It announces a new tax on bosses; on the wages they pay their workers," he said.

"This punishes bosses for hiring workers in the private sector; makes it harder to hand out pay rises. Meanwhile, this same government has set aside billions for massive pay rises for its public servants.

"I mean massive public sector wages are set to increase by nearly 10 per cent next financial year. And over four years – nearly 18 per cent. You know why? Because this is how Premier Daniel Andrews keeps sweet the public sector unions.

"Socialists. So generous with other people's money. Especially when rewarding their mates."
