Malcolm Turnbull ‘wants to be expelled’ from the Liberal Party John Barilaro

NSW Deputy Premier John Barilaro says Malcolm Turnbull “wants to be expelled” from the Liberal Party and he’s “looking for someone to blame”.

It comes after the former prime minister endorsed the independent candidate – Kirsty O’Connell – ahead of the Upper Hunter by-election rather than the Nationals, as well as taking aim at John Barilaro on Facebook.

On Mr Turnbull’s Facebook post, he said there is “not one person in New South Wales who has done more to destabilise and disrupt the Berejiklian government than Barilaro”.

Discussing why Mr Turnbull had not yet been expelled from the NSW Liberal Party, Mr Barilaro said he’s not sure - however the party will “have to do something with him”.

“I think what we’re seeing now is an excuse by Malcolm, he’ll probably blame me if he gets expelled from the Liberal Party, I think that’s what he eventually wants,” Mr Barilaro told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“He wants to be expelled and he’s looking for someone to blame … if it’s my job that gets him expelled well so be it.”
