‘There should have been a eulogy’ Prince Philip’s stories ‘deserve to be told’

Sky News Host Alan Jones says "there should have been a eulogy at the funeral service" of Prince Philip because of the great number of stories that "deserve to be told".

"Way back in 1984, the Duke of Edinburgh was due to compete in an equestrian event at Windsor Great Park. One of his opponents was to be Andrew Cowdery, who was then 21," he said.

"The night before they were to compete against one another, Andrew Cowdery suffered a life-changing accident, when he attended a friend's birthday party and dived into their private swimming pool, mistaking the shallow end for the deep end.

"He broke his neck and spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair, paralysed from the chest down. When the Duke heard what happened, he offered his extensive sympathy and support to Andrew and his family and did so for the next 25 years.

"As Debbie, the sister, said of Prince Philip, 'I don't think he ever saw Andrew as a man in a wheelchair. Prince Philip just saw people, not abilities, capabilities or disabilities'."
