Sky News host Catherine McGregor said Prince Philip had a "life well lived" and that she would have loved to have seen him "ton up" and reach 100-years of age.
"That was not to be," Ms McGregor told Sky News host Alan Jones.
"This prince served in a real Navy in a real war and that alone stands him apart from those who would seek to decry his life".
"And not to mention the 73 years of extraordinary service rendered after the coronation".
