Commonwealth should supply the vaccine but ‘states must deliver it’

about 3 years in news

NSW Finance Minister Damien Tudehope says while the Commonwealth’s role is to “import” the vaccine, it is the state’s “responsibility” to deliver it and oversee its rollout.

“I think we are in fact responsible for the rollout – the premier is right when she says we rely on the Commonwealth to import the drug … but we are in fact responsible for the delivery," he told Sky News host Chris Smith.

“To have a hub planned is what government should do – whether the vaccine is available tomorrow is irrelevant – to have a plan to be able to deliver it as quickly as possible is something government should be involved in."
