NYC Council passes bills to regulate movie sets after firefighter’s 2018 death in ‘Motherless Brooklyn’ blaze

The legislation — spurred by the death of firefighter Michael Davidson in Harlem during the filming of Edward Norton’s “Motherless Brooklyn” — would require the film companies to notify the Fire Department about interior alterations to structures, and to have fire safety officers on set when pyrotechnics or combustible materials are used.
