San Fernando homicide cops quarantined

over 3 years in TT News day

Several officers based at the Homicide Bureau Region III office in San Fernando have been put in quarantine after two recently tested positive for covid19.
Newsday understands two officers recently began showing symptoms and tests confirmed they had the virus.
On Sunday, senior police sent them to self-quarantine at home. As a precautionary measure, the seniors also sent co-workers who had been in contact with the two to self-quarantine.
They are expected to return to work on January 17, once they do not show signs of the virus.
Newsday learnt the office at Coffee Street has since been sanitised by health officials.
Owing to the workforce's decrease, officers from the other two homicide bureaus have been assisting with investigations.
"All things being equal, things are supposed to be back to normal on January 17, when the 14-day period ends," an officer said.
