Police have arrested a 32-year-old Chaguanas man after reports that he used bogus cheques to buy vehicles.
Police said members of the North Eastern Division Task Force went to Kevin Street, Pt Pleasant Park, Cunupia, at around 12 am on Monday and found three vehicles in a parking lot.
They seized a silver Mitsubishi Triton, a black Toyota Hilux and a black Chevy truck.
Investigators said the Triton and the Hilux were reportedly bought by fraudulent means, and they were continuing enquiries into the truck.
Police said the man is assisting them with their investigations.
The exercise was led by Snr Supt Maharaj and ASP Pariman with field operations by Sgts Davidson and Mitchell, Cpls Dill and Gordon and PC Dwarika.
Last Tuesday a police media release said five vehicles had been bought using a fraudulent cheque. It advised automotive dealers to seek clearance and verification from banks before allowing customers to leave with goods.
