3 held after robbery

QUICK work by Las Lomas police led to the arrest of three suspects following an armed robbery in the Piarco district on Saturday yesterday.
The victim, a businessman, reported to police that at 7.43 am, he was at his business place in St Helena Village when three men entered and held him up.
The men forced the victim to the ground and proceeded to rob him of a quantity of cash before running off. A report was made and a party of officers led by Sgts Figaro and John and Cpls Gibson and Hoyte, responded and cordoned off the area and began a search for the suspects.
The men, two 22-year-olds and a 19-year-old, all of Sangre Grande district were found hiding in a bushy area. The stolen cash was also recovered. Investigations are ongoing. Also involved in the search were PCs Ragoonath, Samaroo, Ali, Mahabir, Joseph, Williams, Sammy, Lewis, Dookoo, William, Solomon and Sierres.
