Like many disappointed parents throughout the UK, on Wednesday morning I received the following letter from Father Christmas’s official address, Santa’s Grotto, Reindeerland, XM4 5HQ.
“Ho! Ho! Ho! It is I, Father Christmas. I am writing to you to update you on the steps we are taking to maintain The Magic of Christmas ™ ® during the pandemic. I believe it was I who said, ‘I see you when you’re sleeping and I know when you’re awake. I know if you’ve been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake.’ But this year I shall not be seeing you when you are sleeping and I will not know if you are awake.
