I wonder how many people knew Joe Fitzpatrick was Scotland’s minister for public health until he was relieved of the position on Friday evening. Damned few, I’ll bet. An affable but unimpressive politician, Fitzpatrick - like so many members of the Scottish Government - rose to the top because he was slightly less useless than the next man.
