Missing Guayaguayare fishermen found
over 4 years in TT News day
THE three Guayaguayare fishermen lost at sea since Friday were found on Tuesday morning.
Shaquille Charles, Frank Anthony Sandy and Walter Whiteman left the Guayaguayare fishing port in a boat at around 3 pm last Friday. When the three failed to return home, they were reported missing by their respective families to the Mayaro Police Station on Saturday.
Their worried relatives began searching the sea and coastline. On Tuesday at 10.30 am, Whiteman’s brother Joel Scott called Newsday to say the men had just been found.
He said their boat had drifted to Morne Diablo and they are now at a fishing port there. A boat is now on its way to bring the men back home. Scott said, “I feel good and I am just thanking God.” Charles’ sister Kerdasher Charles told Newsday, “It is joy unspeakable. I was trusting God all the time. And my mother is so ecstatic.”
