ONE NP worker has been discharged from hospital and the other remains in stable condition in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Port of Spain General Hospital following the explosion of a tank on Friday.
On Friday, NP's acting CEO John Gormandy had told reporters the tank, at the southern end of its Sea Lots compound, was "practically empty" and was being cleared of residual super fuel when it exploded.
He had also said the public will continue to have their usual access to super fuel.
Two men were injured during the explosion and were taken to the hospital.
On Saturday, NP's corporate communications manager Denise Caesar told Newsday investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of the explosion.
But she said, "However, we can confirm the status of the two contractor employees as follows.
"One was discharged from hospital yesterday and the other, although still in the ICU, at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, is in a stable condition."
