• Stephen Andrew

• Riga Godron

• Stefanie Hardman

• Bill Heflin

• Jason Heit

• Sean Leitenberg

• Hailey McLeod

• Keith Rosenberg

• Alexander Schmid

You can find more information on the candidates at timescolonist.com/elections and victoria.ca/elections.

Where and when to vote

General voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at six locations:

• James Bay Community School, 140 Oswego St.

• Oaklands Elementary School, 2827 Belmont Ave.

• Sir James Douglas Elementary School, 401 Moss St.

• Da Vinci Centre, 195 Bay St.

• Crystal Garden, 713 Douglas St.

• SJ Willis Education Centre, 923 Topaz Ave.

Accessible voting

An accessible voting machine will be available at Crystal Garden.

There will be designated parking spaces outside each voting place for curbside voting, available for people who have accessibility challenges. There will be signs with a phone number to call. Byelection staff will come out to help.

Vote by mail

It’s not too late to request a vote-by-mail ballot package — but you’ll have to drop it off at Victoria City Hall or one of the voting places before 8 p.m. today.

To request a mail ballot, call 250-361-0571 or go to city hall to pick up a package. Doors open at 8 a.m.

Who can vote

To vote in the byelection, you must be 18 or older, a Canadian citizen, a resident of B.C. for at least six months, and a resident of Victoria.

If you own property in the city but live elsewhere, you can vote as a non-resident property elector if you own the property as an individual, not as a corporation.

What to bring

Voters can check whether they are on the voters list at victoria.ca/elections (this site also includes information on ID).

On the list? Bring one piece of valid ID — with a signature — with you when you vote.

Not on the list? You’ll need two pieces of valid ID, including one that has your signature on it.

Why is there a byelection?

Laurel Collins, who was elected to council in 2018, resigned last year after winning the Victoria riding for the NDP in the federal election.
