Estwick challenges Windies to fight in final Test

WEST Indies assistant coach Roddy Estwick is challenging his players to be ready for the fight and not roll over in the second and final Test match against New Zealand which bowls off at 6 pm in Wellington, on Thursday.
A victory or a draw in the final Test will prevent West Indies from ending their New Zealand tour with four consecutive defeats.
New Zealand won the three-match T20 series 2-0 after the last match was abandoned because of rain.
In the first Test match, West Indies suffered a heavy loss by an innings and 134 runs. Batting first, New Zealand posted a massive 519/7 declared.
The Windies batting woes continued as they were bundled out for 138 in reply.
Jermaine Blackwood (104) and Alzarri Joseph (86) showed resistance in the follow on, but it could not help West Indies avoid the massive defeat.
Speaking with the media ahead of the second Test, Estwick said, “Like (Windies captain) Jason (Holder) said earlier in an interview the talking has to stop. We have to go out now and stay in the contest, stay in the fight because you know New Zealand is going to be up for the fight, we’ve got to be ready. The game in Hamilton is gone (and) we have to look forward to this one.”
Estwick urged the Windies players to make the Caribbean proud. “We are representing eight million people back in the West Indies. They want to see us fight and we’ve got to be prepared to fight. We just can’t roll over and say, ‘Well New Zealand is a good side, we not going to fight and we are going to lay down and let them run all over us.’”
Estwick said the players must put value on everything that they do. “Put a price on your wicket, put a price on every ball that you bowl, put a price on every ball you field, put a price on every ball you catch. There is no hiding place in Test cricket, especially in New Zealand. You can’t relax for one minute.”
West Indies have been forced to make changes for the second Test as fast bowler Kemar Roach will return to Barbados for the funeral of his father. Wicket-keeper Shane Dowrich, who picked up an injury in the opening Test, will return to his native Barbados due to “personal reasons.”
TT's wicket-keeper Joshua Da Silva has replaced Dowrich in the squad and fast bowler Chemar Holder is expected to make his Test debut because of Roach’s absence.
