Sir, – John Wilson was not Gonzaga-educated (“Pride, passion and Cavan”, Sport, December 5th).
He was, however, for many years there a brilliant teacher of Latin, Greek, Irish and Spanish, combining empathy, discipline and the gift of teaching in a rare balance.
