Loveland Fire Rescue Authority and Thompson Valley EMS rescued a horse trapped in an icy lake in Loveland, Colorado, on Saturday, December 5. Rescuers used a crane provided by Loveland Water and Power to pull the horse from the lake after it had wandered out on thin ice and become stuck. Video by Loveland Fire Rescue Authority shows responders using a crane to winch the horse out of the lake. “Thankful for the help from City Of Loveland light and power with their crane. They played a critical role in getting this tired and cold horse out of the pond. Now the long task of warming the horse back up,” firefighters said.
