HBO urged an appeals court on Thursday to dismiss a $100 million lawsuit filed by Michael Jackson’s estate over a documentary featuring a series of child abuse allegations against the late singer. The lawsuit says the network’s airing of “Leaving Neverland” last year breached a 1992 contract that promised not to disparage Jackson’s public image, a claim HBO’s legal team has described as “absurd.”
