NHC says Eta strengthens into a category 1 hurricane

Eta has strengthened into a category one hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, the National Hurricane Center said on Monday. The hurricane is located about 175 miles (285 km) east-northeast of Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, packing maximum sustained winds of 75 mph (120 kph).
