REGINA — Saskatchewan Party Leader Scott Moe says he took off a face mask while in a Regina store and likely won't do it again.
A photo of Moe in the retail shop looking for a winter coat was shared on his official Twitter page by his campaign for Monday's election.
Saskatchewan's chief medical health officer hasn't issued a mandate that requires masks be worn but strongly recommends people wear them in indoor public spaces.
Moe says he had been wearing the mask while inside the store and took it off when there was no one else around.
He says he could have kept it on the entire time and, because of questions he's received about the photo, will probably reconsider keeping a mask on next time.
NDP Leader Ryan Meili has also appeared in campaign photos inside a business without a mask on his face.
He has repeatedly criticized Moe for sending mixed messages about COVID-19 restrictions, including mask use.
