Baseball fans made history on Monday, October 12, as the first crowd allowed into Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, to watch a Major League Baseball game, local media reported. There have not been any live audiences at MLB games due to the coronavirus pandemic, but Globe Life Field opened its doors to its very first fans, about 12,000 of them, for Game 1 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) on Monday. Globe Life Field opened in July and serves as the new home stadium for the Texas Rangers. Sports writer Alex Plinck filmed this footage showing spectators filing into the stadium and watching the game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves. Plinck said on Twitter that “listening to crowd cheer is a breath of fresh air.” Credit: Alex Plinck via Storyful
