almost 5 years in dailytelegraph
Evacuation orders caused traffic mayhem in parts of Louisiana as residents rushed to flee storm-prone areas on October 8, ahead of Hurricane Delta’s expected landfall. This footage shows traffic backed up on Interstate 10 in the Vinton area of Calcasieu Parish shortly after 4 pm, Thursday. The National Hurricane Center warned that by early Friday, October 9, storm preparations needed to be finished before it became “dangerous or impossible to complete” them due to tropical-storm-force winds. The storm was expected to make landfall by Friday evening, bringing storm surges, hurricane-force winds, and significant flash flooding. Parts of Texas, Mississippi, and Louisiana were on alert.
