Heavy rain from Tropical Storm Beta flooded Buffalo Bayou in Houston, Texas, on September 22. The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Buffalo Bayou near Piney Point Village, with a flood advisory for other areas of Houston and surrounding areas. Heavy rain from Beta had already caused Keegans Bayou in the city to overflow the previous night, “swallowing cars on Highway 59 and West Bellfort in southwest Houston,” local media reported.
