Mara Brock Akil, the writer and producer of the popular series such as “Girlfriends,” “Being Mary Jane,” and “The Game,” has signed a multi-year agreement with the streaming giant to produce new original content. Starting Sept. 11, all eight seasons of “Girlfriends” will be available on Netflix.
