Husband Santos Gutierrez refused to let COVID-19 get between him and his hospitalized wife in Odessa, Texas, serenading her with a socially distanced mariachi concert on September 6. Footage shows a live mariachi band playing on top of a hospital parking garage, while Gutierrez FaceTimes his wife and sings along with the music. According to local news reports, Gutierrez arranged the concert when he discovered his wife was feeling down, rallying family to attend and make signs. “I just wanted to show her some support and show her that we are still waiting for her to get out,” Gutierrez told local TV station KXAN.
