Chadwick Boseman’s death has a Black Lives Matter moral

almost 5 years in NY Daily

Chadwick Boseman’s death last week rightly shook the world. Boseman, a bona fide superhero at 43 years of age, was struck down in the prime of his life by colon cancer, a disease that typically targets older adults. As an oncologist who studies racial disparities in gastrointestinal cancers, I have found myself fielding the same questions from friends and family members following his passing: How could this have happened to someone so young? Could race have played a part in his untimely death? What are we doing to address this escalating form of cancer?
