Fire crews were captured making a low airdrop of fire retardant on the Perry Fire that broke out near Newcastle, California, on August 26. The fire only burned approximately nine acres, but prompted evacuations and road closures due to its proximity to homes, according to reports. Cal Fire said the fire was 100 percent contained late on August 26. The Newcastle resident who posted the video wrote on Instagram, “Disaster averted!
