Paul Kelly’s article “Over-protected states throttling our nation” (26/8) is spot on. What fascinates me is how easily many Australians in the more fortunate states have welcomed the parochial and divisive policies of the premiers and have willingly surrendered freedoms valiantly obtained and retained by previous generations.
