A 34-year-old Ladysmith man has been charged with assault after he allegedly tried to force a woman into his vehicle. Nanaimo RCMP are releasing the man’s name and photo because they believe there could be other victims.
Police allege the man assaulted the woman outside her work in central Nanaimo around 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The woman and the man know each other but police did not disclose their relationship.
The investigation is being led by Nanaimo RCMP’s domestic violence unit.
As the man tried to force the woman into his car, she broke free from his grasp, run away and called 911.
The man fled in his vehicle. He was arrested several hours later at his home by Ladysmith RCMP.
Kade Dwolinsky is charged with one count of assault. He has been released on conditions with a court appearance set for Aug. 20.
“Based on evidence gathered to date, police believe there may be other victims of Dwolinsky, and by releasing his picture, it will further the investigation and encourage individuals to come forward and contact investigators, “ said Nanaimo RCMP Const. Gary O’Brien.
