It wasn’t what Stuart Broad said, so much as the look on his face as he said it. In a live TV interview minutes before the start of play on Friday, Broad spoke with refreshing honesty about how it felt to be dropped, how he felt “angry and gutted” about being left out of this match. He had been England’s leading wicket-taker in their last series, after all, and had finished third in the overall list in Test cricket last year.
