US ‘knee deep’ in first virus wave as states are forced back into lockdown

Florida has joined a growing list of US states to reverse course on reopening, as 32 states across the nation record a resurgence in virus cases.
The country’s top doctor, Anthony Fauci, warned America was still "knee deep" in its first wave.
Despite this, Florida Governor Ron Desantis resisted calls for another state-wide shutdown, saying "you can have society function in a way that keeps people safe".
