A hotel quarantine bombshell will be dropped on Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews as new information emerges on the breakdown of health security processes in quarantine facilities across the state, Sky News Darwin Bureau Chief Matt Cunningham says.

The Herald Sun is reporting “illegal cash payments to guards and rorts where security firms billed taxpayers for shifts that were never worked have been exposed in Victoria’s COVID-19 hotel quarantine debacle”.

Mr Cunningham said “this is going to be incredibly damaging for Daniel Andrews who is really going to be scrambling at the moment amidst this latest outbreak of cases in Victoria," according to Sky News Darwin Bureau Chief Matt Cunningham.

“He’s going to have some difficulty explaining tomorrow exactly what has been going on”.

The outbreak in Victoria has caused issues for the entire country as states struggle to decide on whether to open their borders to Victorians or not, Mr Cunningham told Sky News host Peter Gleeson.
