UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock says lockdowns will remain in place in the British city of Leicester following a spike in coronavirus cases.

Mr Hancock advised Leicester residents to remain home for all but essential travel purposes.

He said the government was prepared to take further actions to implement social distancing measures if required.

The city recorded more than 800 new infections in the past two weeks.
