Wendell Pierce throws hat into the ring to voice lead role on ‘The Cleveland Show’

Last week amid the increasing popularity of the Black Lives Matter movement, the award-winning voice over artist announced he had resigned, saying in part, “persons of color should play characters of color.” Pierce, most recently wowed audiences in the London West End production of Arthur Miller’s classic “Death of a Salesman” and won acclaim on television shows like HBO’s “Treme” and Amazon’s “Jack Ryan” series, has took to social media to lobby for the gig.
