Iran issues arrest warrant for US President Donald Trump

almost 4 years in news

Iran has officially sought assistance from Interpol to arrest US President Donald Trump after issuing an arrest warrant for the president an 35 others over the killing of General Qassem Soleimani in January.

An American airstrike in Baghdad in January successfully killed General Soleimani after escalating tensions between the two nations.

A prosecutor in Iran has declared the president faces “murder and terrorism charges”.

Sky News US political commentator Joe Hockey said this new development is “part of the absurdity of the relationship between Iran and the United States”.

“(President Trump) has endeavoured to try and negotiate a solution with the Ayatollah and the leadership in Iran but they’re not interested in negotiating,” Mr Hockey told Sky News host Paul Murray.
