Qld Premier needs to ‘stand aside’ if she can’t make borders decision

Government Services Minister Stuart Robert says if Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk cannot make a decision on her state’s borders then she needs to “stand aside”.

The Premier on the weekend announced a decision on reopening the state’s borders will be declared on Tuesday.

“The premier can’t make a decision, it’s quite simple,” Mr Robert said.

Many businesses especially tourism operators have been left in the dark by the lack of certainty surrounding the borders and have in the meantime lost considerable income they otherwise would have gained during peak holiday periods.

“It’s just unacceptable by this premier not to be transparent,” Minister Robert told Sky News host Paul Murray.

“If Premier Palaszczuk is not able to make a decision, stand aside for someone in your party who can because Queenslanders can’t wait while the premier finds herself to try and work out what to do”.
