Moscow City Parliament Deputy Evgeny Stupin has filed a lawsuit against a Russian constitutional reform vote amid the coronavirus pandemic.

President Vladimir Putin was determined to go ahead with the poll on July 1 to determine whether he would be allowed to run for office again at the end of his fourth presidential term in 2024.

With the pandemic still out of control in Russia, Mr Stupin said it would be a crime for people to go out and vote.

More than a dozen Russian cities called off World War Two Victory Marches due to coronavirus concerns.
